Your Body is Hard-Wired to Respond to Cannabinoids in the Marijuana Plant

There are more than 60 chemical compounds known as cannabinoids in the marijuana plant. According to a report by Americans for Safe Access:
"In the past three decades, there has been an explosion of international studies designed to investigate the therapeutic value of cannabis (marijuana).
However, drastic restrictions on research in the U.S. have meant that few clinical trials are being conducted domestically and none are being conducted as part of a sponsor-funded drug development plan aimed at obtaining Food & Drug Administration (FDA) approval for the prescription use of the botanical plant itself.
Meanwhile, research teams in Great Britain, Spain, Italy, Israel, and elsewhere have confirmed - through case studies, basic research, pre-clinical, and preliminary clinical investigations - the medical value of cannabis … "
Of course, in the United States marijuana is so heavily controlled that even if you wanted to conduct a clinical trial, you would have a hard time getting a supply for research purposes. As the Safe Access report states:
" … the federal monopoly on the supply of cannabis has fundamentally limited FDA-approved clinical research to investigate its safety and efficacy in controlling symptoms of serious and chronic illnesses.
In the United States, research is stalled, and in some cases blocked, by a complicated federal approval process, restricted access to research-grade cannabis, and the refusal of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to license private production of cannabis for use exclusively in federally approved research
It is possible to avoid these risks entirely by either using cannabis in hemp oil form or, as many medical marijuana patients advocate, by using a vaporizer. The device allows for the ingestion of marijuana without any combustion byproducts, eliminating rightful concerns about the cumulative harms associated with smoking it. It is also possible to minimize harm by eating marijuana (along with some fat, as THC is fat-soluble and will not dissolve in water).
It is important to note that in the United States today using marijuana for any reason is still considered an illegal activity that can result in serious legal consequences, including imprisonment.
Sadly, it is not the scientific evidence -- but rather politics and an increasingly insatiable privatized industrial-prison complex in need of more drug-convicted "criminals" -- which maintains the stranglehold on our freedom to choose wild growing plants as our medicine rather than soley FDA-approved drugs.

"New research from Harvard University has found that eating canned soup can spike your urinary bisphenol A (BPA) levels by 1,200 percent compared to fresh soup. Described as “one of the first to quantify BPA levels in humans after ingestion of canned foods,” the study examines the volume in which cancer-causing BPA contaminates canned goods across the world.


 


The research appears in the Journal of the American Medical Association November issue. BPA of course has been linked to countless diseases, including breast cancer and fertility defects that can lead to infertility. In fact 130 studies have been conducted on the link between BPA and breast cancer alone — all of which confirmed the relationship."

Harvard researchers not only identified the massive amount of BPA present in canned foods, but they also compared the content to BPA levels present in water bottles and other plastic containers. What they found was quite shocking: it appears that canned foods may be presenting an even greater risk to your health than many plastics due to the extremely high BPA content. This is also particularly true due to the widespread usage of canned goods, which are a staple in the diet of many individuals worldwide."
“We’ve known for a while that drinking beverages that have been stored in certain hard plastics can increase the amount of BPA in your body,” said lead author Jenny Carwile, a doctoral student in the Department of Epidemiology at Harvard School of Public Health. ”This study suggests that canned foods may be an even greater concern, especially given their wide use.”

    What Causes Colds and Influenzas?

    Both colds and various influenzas are caused by a wide variety of viruses (not bacteria).
    While the two ailments typically affect your respiratory tract, there are some differences between them.
    Common symptoms of a 'regular cold' include runny nose, congestion, cough, and sore throat. The symptoms of the flu tend to be far more severe, as the influenza viruses are capable of causing severe lung infection, pneumonia and even respiratory failure. They also tend to affect your joints—hence that allover achy feeling.
    The most common way these viruses are spread is via hand-to-hand contact. For instance, someone with a cold blows their nose then shakes your hand or touches surfaces that you also touch. However, the key to remember is that just being exposed to a cold virus does not mean that you're destined to catch a cold.
    If your immune system is operating at its peak, it should actually be quite easy for you to fend off the virus without ever getting sick. Ditto for flu viruses. If your immune system is impaired, on the other hand, they can easily take hold in your body. So, it's important to understand that the reason you catch a cold or flu is because your immune system is impaired. It's not an inevitable event based on exposure alone.
    Lifestyle factors that can depress your immune system, alone or in combination, include:
    • Eating too much sugar, particularly fructose, and too many grains. The average person is consuming about 75 grams of fructose per day, and when fructose is consumed at that level it can devastate your immune system. One of the ways it does this is by unbalancing your gut flora. Sugar is 'fertilizer' for pathogenic bacteria, yeast, and fungi that can set your immune system up for an assault by a respiratory virus. Most people don't realize that 80 percent of your immune system actually lies in your gastrointestinal tract. That's why controlling your sugar intake is CRUCIAL for optimizing your immune system.
      It would be wise to limit your total fructose consumption to below 25 grams a day if you're in good health, or below 15 grams a day if you have high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, or are insulin resistant.

    • Not getting enough rest
    • Insufficient exercise
    • Using ineffective strategies to address emotional stressors

    Shocking LACK of Evidence Supporting Flu Vaccines

    While the flu vaccine is touted as the "best" way to avoid catching the seasonal flu, what many fail to realize is that the science available actually does NOT support this conclusion. In essence, it's wishful thinking that is unsupported by scientific evidence.
    Take the Cochrane Database Review for example—which is the gold standard for assessing the effectiveness of common medical interventions—as discussed here in a recent article on GreenMedInfo.com. Here are five Cochrane Database Reviews, published between 2006 and 2010, completely decimating the claim that flu vaccinations are the best course of action to prevent the flu.
    1. A large-scale, systematic review of 51 studies, published in the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews in 2006, found no evidence that the flu vaccine is any more effective than a placebo in children under two. The studies involved 260,000 children, age 6 to 23 months.
    2. Two years, later, in 2008, another Cochrane review again concluded that "little evidence is available" that the flu vaccine is effective for children under the age of two. Even more disturbingly, the authors stated that: "It was surprising to find only one study of inactivated vaccine in children under two years, given current recommendations to vaccinate healthy children from six months old in the USA and Canada. If immunization in children is to be recommended as a public health policy, large-scale studies assessing important outcomes and directly comparing vaccine types are urgently required."
    3. Then, last year, Cochrane published the following bombshell conclusion:
      "Influenza vaccines have a modest effect in reducing influenza symptoms and working days lost. There is no evidence that they affect complications, such as pneumonia, or transmission.
      WARNING: This review includes 15 out of 36 trials funded by industry (four had no funding declaration). An earlier systematic review of 274 influenza vaccine studies published up to 2007 found industry funded studies were published in more prestigious journals and cited more than other studies independently from methodological quality and size. Studies funded from public sources were significantly less likely to report conclusions favorable to the vaccines.
      The review showed that reliable evidence on influenza vaccines is thin but there is evidence of widespread manipulation of conclusions and spurious notoriety of the studies. The content and conclusions of this review should be interpreted in light of this finding." [Emphasis mine.]
    4. Last year, Cochrane also reviewed the available evidence with regards to protecting the elderly, and the results were equally abysmal. The authors concluded that: "The available evidence is of poor quality and provides no guidance regarding the safety, efficacy or effectiveness of influenza vaccines for people aged 65 years or older."
    5. They also reviewed whether or not vaccinating health care workers can help protect the elderly patients with whom they work. In conclusion, the authors state that: "[T]here is no evidence that vaccinating health care workers prevents influenza in elderly residents in long-term care facilities

    Supplements can be beneficial for colds, but I believe they should be used only as an adjunct to other healthy dietary and lifestyle measures discussed in this article. Some of the more helpful options for cold and flu--above and beyond vitamin D--are:
    • Vitamin C: A very potent antioxidant; use a natural form such as acerola, which contains associated micronutrients. You can take several grams every hour till you are better unless you start developing loose stools
    • Oregano Oil: The higher the carvacrol concentration, the more effective it is. Carvacrol is the most active antimicrobial agent in oregano oil.

    Feast Like a Caveman and Watch the Pounds Melt Away.  All I have to say is "holy cow"!  I thought I was well informed and well educated about the garbage diet that Americans are forced to choose from these days.  


    That is, until I read several articles and a book on the Paleolithic diet and "got a clue". I have been on this diet plan for nearly 3 months now and the difference in my overall health is stupendous.  PLUS!  I have lost 25 pounds in 10 weeks, and am back into my size 4 clothes, simply by ditching all gluten loaded grains, most definitely wheat, and sugars.   


    The way I figure it is that if God had intended us to garbage up on the very toxic high fructose corn syrup loaded foods they would have been provided in God's master plan for human health.  I pity the kids most of all. They have no choice in what they eat. Little wonder that children today are monstrously obese, unhealthy and dying of unnatural causes due to a health destructive diet at increasingly early ages.  Looking at their obese parents advertises to everyone that they are uninformed about nutrition and "don't give a you know what" about their health, longevity, appearance and long term medical costs to name just a few variables.

    Can a Stone Age Diet Make You Healthier?

    "CBS recently ran an excellent series of reports about the Paleolithic diet movement. Of the mainstream press, Dr. Kim Mulvihill was the sole member present at the recent Ancestral Health Symposium in Los Angeles. She ended up taking part in Dr. Lynda Frassetto's scientific study on the Paleo diet herself.
    As reported on CBS:
    "You can eat anything that would be able to be eaten without being processed," explained Dr. Lynda Frassetto. That means no grains, no bread, and no [pasteurized] dairy but does include lots of fruits and vegetables, some nuts and oils and lots of fish, poultry and lean meats.
    ... Dr. Frassetto and her team at the University of California in San Francisco tested the Paleo-diet on out-of-shape volunteers. The group ate lots of food without losing any weight or exercising. "In two weeks, everybody's blood pressure went down and everybody's cholesterol and triglyceride levels got better. The average drop was 30 points, which was pretty amazing. It's the type of drop you get by taking statins for six months," said Dr. Frassetto.
    Dr. Frassetto says Paleo foods, also known as the caveman diet, works by keeping your body's chemistry in better balance. The goal of the caveman diet is to reduce excess body fat, aid in the normalization of blood sugar levels and reduce toxins and anti-nutrients."
    "Normalizing" your system is the true strength of the so-called caveman diet. By eating foods that are concordant with your genetic ancestry, you can avoid many of the diseases associated with our modern diet. As Dr. Loren Cordain, author of The Paleo Diet and one of the world's leading experts on Paleolithic nutrition, states:
    "The nutritional qualities of modern processed foods and foods introduced during the Neolithic period are discordant with our ancient and conservative genome. This genetic discordance ultimately manifests itself as various chronic illnesses, which have been dubbed "diseases of civilization." By severely reducing or eliminating these foods and replacing them with a more healthful cuisine, possessing nutrient qualities more in line with the foods our ancestors consumed, it is possible to improve health and reduce the risk of chronic disease." 


    Why the Paleo Diet Works for Weight Loss

    A common "side effect" of rebalancing your body's chemistry is weight loss, as the two tend to go hand-in-hand. One explanation for this is that you don't really get fat from eating too much and exercising too little. Nor do you get fat from eating fat.
    So what does cause your fat tissue to accumulate and hold on to fat?
    In a word: carbohydrates.
    In essence, overeating and excess weight could be viewed as a symptom of an improper diet, because when you consume too many sugars and carbs, you set off a cascade of chemical reactions in your body that makes you hungry and craving for sweets:
    1. First, fructose is metabolized differently from glucose, with the majority being turned directly into fat because stimulates a powerful “fat switch.”
    2. This rapidly leads to weight gain and abdominal obesity ("beer belly"), decreased HDL, increased LDL, elevated triglycerides, elevated blood sugar, and high blood pressure—i.e., classic metabolic syndrome.
    3. Dietary carbohydrates, especially fructose, are also the primary source of a substance called glycerol-3-phosphate (g-3-p), which causes fat to become fixed in fat tissue
    4. At the same time, high carb intake raises your insulin levels, which prevents fat from being released
    5. Fructose further tricks your body into gaining weight by turning off your body's appetite-control system. Fructose does not suppress ghrelin (the "hunger hormone") and doesn't stimulate leptin (the "satiety hormone"), which together result in feeling hungry all the time, even though you've eaten. As a result, you overeat and develop insulin resistance, which is not only an underlying factor of type 2 diabetes and heart disease, but also many cancers
    The resulting equation is simple: fructose and dietary carbohydrates (grains, which break down into sugar) lead to excess body fat, obesity and related health issues. Furthermore, no amount of exercise can compensate for this damage because if you eat excessive fructose and grains—the primary ingredients NOT found in the Paleo diet—it will activate programming to cause your body to become, and remain, fat.

    Lead Poisoning Alert: This Widely Used Drink is Dangerous.  This is the third or fourth article I have curated on the topic of how dangerous Fluoride is to human health.  Despite the propaganda released by the ghouls in the FDA and other governmental agencies, and the con job that dentists have been sold for decades that fluoride is a   preventative for dental decay, blah, blah, blah.  HA!

    Deepening the deception is the fact that none of the studies on fluoride actually used the far more toxic hydrofluorosilicic acid that is added to the water supply. Rather they use pharmaceutical grade fluoride, so the health hazards are likely FAR worse than any study has so far discerned.
    "So when someone uses the word fluoride, I believe we start with a deception from the very beginning," Green says. "… [T]here is almost a bragging by the promoters of fluoridation that you don't have to study it because they have studied fluoride over and over again, yet they have never looked at the actual product itself until just recently!
    In 1998 to 2000, I was able to get a congressional investigation on fluoride. At that particular time, the House Committee on Science allowed us to write some questions that would be sent out to various entities. Originally it was to the EPA… We asked them to send the scientific data they had on the silicofluorides. They wrote back [saying they] couldn't find any [data] for chronic effects of the use of hydrofluorosilicic acid or the silicofluorides.  


    Fluoride Increases Heavy Metal Accumulation in Your Body

    These studies also showed that hydrofluorosilicic acid increases lead accumulation in bone, teeth, and other calcium-rich tissues. According to Green, the free fluoride ion actually acts as a transport of heavy metals, allowing them to enter into areas of your body they normally would not be able to go, such as into your brain. 

    So as an example, fluoride is used in the ceramics business to make ceramics more porous. Well, it does exactly the same thing to your bones. Once they have learned all the other uses for fluoride, it becomes very easy to see how it does the same thing to your own calcium-rich tissues."

    Southern Nevada Health District Raids Quail Hollow Organic Farm.  Well, no surprise that the tyrannical government that we are forced to endure has placed us squarely in the category of police state in the USA.  Think we'll ever be free again?

    Dear Fellow Farmers, Countrymen, and CSA Members:
    Being American it hurts us to write these words: If we want the choice to choose to eat real food, we are going to have to fight for it.
    We are Monte and Laura Bledsoe of Quail Hollow Farm in Overton, Nevada; a small, organic, sustainable CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) farm that feeds over 100 families in Southern Nevada. In addition to our CSA, we also serve 2 farmers markets each week and provide hands on training and teaching to interns and WWOOFer’s (World Wide Organization of Organic Farmers) who want to learn the skills of organic farming so that they in turn can run their own organic farms in the future.
    Recently on our farm we invited over 100 guests to celebrate the bounty of the harvest with a 5-course dinner on the farm with food provided directly from the farm to their fork. While our guests were arriving a local health district employee arrived and deemed all of our food unfit and threatened police action against ourselves and our guests if we did not only throw out all of the food but to make it even unfit to feed our pigs we were ordered to pour bleach on it. The health district justified this with several reasons that are all arguable but one. The meat that was provided did not come from a government approved source.
    That we are limited to purchase, supply and even to consume only government approved (USDA certified) meats that have co-mingled with countless other animals from countless other farms carrying countless numbers of contaminates is absolutely absurd! That we are not only unable to provide these foods to an educated public but are not able to make that choice for ourselves is absolutely despotic!
    This incident as well as innumerable incidents like this throughout our “free” country is a call to action! If the heavy-handedness of our government officials concerns you please take the following actions.
    1. Share this information and this video and others like this with all those who you know. Get them involved.
    2. Know your county, state and federal laws.
    3. Call your local, state and national representatives and tell them how you feel about the government intrusion into their personal food choices.
    4. Eat & buy local! Support your local farmers and local economy by attending farmer’s markets and/or joining a local CSA (see http://www.localharvest.org). Patronize stores and restaurants that use these local sources. Your dollar has more clout with Congress than your vote does!
    5. Join the Farm to Consumer Legal Defense Fund ( http://www.farmtoconsumer.org). Farmtoconsumer.org are fighting for both farmers and consumers throughout the United States and Canada to preserve our food choices.
    We want to personally thank each one of you for your interest in providing and consuming local, organic, sustainable food.     Fifty Percent of Americans Suffer from Silent Killer.   One of the things I personally eliminated from my diet completely is all wheat products that contain gluten.  There are hundreds of articles on how toxic the current bio-engineered wheat grown contains 90% gluten! is.  Enlightened countries like Spain, India, The Netherlands and countless other European and Asian countries have refused Monsanto's poisonous GMO wheat and other grain seeds because they have seen the damage to the ecosystem and humanity.


    Point being:  Getting rid of an allergen like gluten that causes your body to go into defensive mode and messes up your  blood sugar levels has also had the added  benefit of causing me to lose 27 pounds in 10 weeks.  Effortlessly.  I feel a million times better and have zero gastrointestinal problems that gluten caused me.  Plus the scale is my friend once again.

    That is why I use a more comprehensive term to describe these conditions—diabesity. Diabesity describes a continuum of disease from from optimal blood sugar balance to insulin sensitivity to full-blown diabetes. This biological imbalance is our modern plague. It affects 1 in 2 Americans and is the leading cause of most chronic disease in this country including type 2 diabetes, heart disease, stroke, dementia, and cancer, not to mention its leading role in weight gain and obesity.
    Despite this fact, there are no national recommendations from the government or key organizations to advise screening and treatment of it, and most doctors don’t know how to properly diagnose it. The result is that 90 percent of the people who suffer from diabesity are left undiagnosed and untreated.
    The instances of diabesity are increasing at an astonishing rate. 20 years ago when I started practicing medicine, not a single state in the nation had an obesity rate over 20 percent. Today, not a single state in the nation has an obesity rate under 20 percent. The prevalence of type 2 diabetes has tripled in since the 1980s. There are now 27 million diabetics in the country.
    The question is, “Why?” Why are we facing a diabesity pandemic? Why are our current treatment approaches failing so miserably? And why is conventional medicine floundering when it comes to diagnosing the biggest health threat of our time?"
